Guwahati: Deputy Inspector General of Police Yeshe Tsering Gwatso toured the India-Bangladesh border on August 27. He arrived in Dhubri to assess active security measures. The mission aimed to stop illegal cross-border activity. Gwatso visited Patamari, Takimari, and Sastar Ghat to verify current site conditions.
Dhubri Superintendent of Police Debasish Borah joined the inspection. Senior officers from the local administration and Border Security Force representatives also took part. The group reviewed ongoing surveillance strategies and talked with locals. They want better coordination between security agencies and residents.
Gwatso praised the local force for their work against organized crime. He noted the police department's aggressive stance against regional threats. "The police force's role in combating cattle smuggling and the illegal drug trade in the border areas," he said while addressing the media. Authorities intend to keep the pressure on traffickers.
