Tripura Students Return From Raksha Bandhan Celebration at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Agartala: Four students from Tripura arrived back at Agartala Railway Station on Tuesday. They carried memories of a national trip to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Meheresia Sarkar, Pratik Sarkar, Riki Deb, and Amit Kumar Sarkar attend Netaji Nagar English Medium SB School in West Tripura. They spent the trip celebrating Raksha Bandhan with President Droupadi Murmu.

The group traveled to New Delhi led by Abhijit Samajpati, the OSD of the School Education Department. Teachers Biswajit Bhowmik and Biplab Deb accompanied them. The children tied handmade rakhis on the President and presented their own greeting cards. They also gifted the President a souvenir from the Mata Tripureshwari Temple and traditional risha cloth.

President Murmu welcomed the children into her office. The students called the trip a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. One student remarked to the media, "We were proud to show the traditions of our state and celebrate Raksha Bandhan with the President. It was a moment we will never forget."

This mission marked the first time these students ever left Tripura. The trip gave them a national platform to highlight the state's cultural values. It showcased local heritage to the highest office in the land.
