Tripura Students Meet President Murmu for Raksha Bandhan

Agartala: Four students from Netaji Nagar English Medium SB School trekked from West Tripura to Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday. They arrived for Raksha Bandhan. The group included Class V student Meheresia Sarkar and Class VI students Amit Kumar Sarkar, Rike Deb, and Pratik Sarkar.

School Education Department OSD Abhijit Samajpati led the team. Teachers Biswajit Bhowmik and Biplab Kumar Deb provided supervision. The students handed the President a bamboo replica of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple and a traditional Risha. They also brought handmade rakhis, greeting cards, and a pencil sketch of Murmu drawn by Udaipur student Pralay De.

The President engaged the group during the visit. She asked about Tripura and requested a song. The students performed. "The President appreciated the rakhis prepared by the students," the Tripura team stated. Murmu tied a rakhi on Meheresia Sarkar, and the students tied rakhis on the President.

Rashtrapati Bhavan staff led the visitors on a private tour. They explored conference halls and rooms typically reserved for foreign delegates and Cabinet ministers. The students walked the gardens while learning the history of the seat of power.
