Agartala: Tripura Police recovered 210.5 kilograms of suspected dried cannabis during a targeted anti-narcotics operation in the South district. Acting on credible information, officers raided a home in the West Pipariakhola area under the P.R. Bari Police Station jurisdiction.

Led by Sub-inspector Ratan Rabi Das, the team discovered six plastic drums and five sacks buried beneath the floor of a newly constructed house. The police also seized a motorcycle found on the property. Although the residents fled before officers arrived, authorities are working to locate and arrest those responsible for the cache.

The department has registered a formal case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. South Tripura Superintendent of Police Mourya Krishna has directed all units to maintain pressure on local drug networks, noting that the agency aims to "further strengthen enforcement measures and conduct sustained action against drug trafficking and related offences."
