Agartala: Tripura police hauled in 23 suspects during a massive anti-drug sweep across Agartala and its surrounding neighborhoods. The operation represents a sharp escalation in the state's fight against trafficking. Authorities aim to clear the city of illegal substances entirely.
East Agartala Police Station led the charge. Officers from Maharaj Ganj Out Post and College Tilla Out Post joined the raids. They hit multiple locations to nab peddlers and drug users in a single, coordinated move. Officer-in-Charge Krishnadhan Sarkar directed the effort to dismantle established supply lines.
The crackdown is just the start. Police intend to maintain this pressure throughout the coming days to root out criminal networks. "Strict action will be taken against those involved in drug-related activities," Sarkar said. Law enforcement is now asking local residents to report any suspicious behavior to help clean up the streets.
