Agartala: Agartala police netted 54 grams of heroin in the College Tilla neighborhood. Officers discovered the drugs packed into five separate soap cases. West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak valued the stash at Rs 15 lakh on the illegal market.
Personnel from the East Agartala Police Station led the raid after receiving a tip. The operation moved fast. It fell under the direct supervision of Sadar SDPO Panna Lal Sen and officer-in-charge Krishnadhan Sarkar.
Authorities arrested one individual at the scene. They plan to bring the suspect before a judge to request police remand for questioning. Investigators are currently tracing the supply chain and identifying the intended delivery location.
The bust acts as a piece of a wider state crackdown on trafficking ordered by Chief Minister Manik Saha. Police vow to stay the course. "We will continue this drive against drugs and further investigate the matter," Pathak said. Enforcement teams plan to keep up the pressure on narcotics distribution across Tripura.
