Agartala: Tripura SC Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma launched an investigation Monday into alleged food supply problems at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Girls' Hostel. He arrived unannounced at the facility located on Agartala's Jagannath Bari Road. He grilled hostel staff and listened to student complaints directly. The minister wants a transparent probe.

Debbarma demanded immediate corrective action regarding the reported mismanagement. He warned of legal consequences for those failing the students. "No negligence or malpractice will be tolerated when it comes to students' rights, safety and welfare," Debbarma said. He refused to let poor conditions slide.

The minister expanded his sweep after the morning meeting. He visited the Bodhjung ST Boys' Hostel and the Women's College ST Girls' Hostel in Agartala. He checked living conditions, building infrastructure, and daily management tasks. He intends to prioritize necessary repairs to keep the residential environments safe for students. Debbarma claims the state government views these upgrades as a vital investment in building a skilled and prosperous future.
