Agartala: Tripura SC and Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma launched an impartial inquiry into food quality issues at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Girls' Hostel. The minister arrived on Jagannath Bari Road on August 3 to conduct a surprise inspection. He spoke with resident students about their complaints and demanded a full report from hostel staff.

Debbarma ordered a transparent investigation into every facet of the reported irregularities. He demanded prompt action if the claims hold up. "Any negligence or irregularity concerning the rights, safety and welfare of students will not be tolerated. If the allegations are found to be true, strict action will be taken against those responsible as per government rules," the minister said.

He did not stop there. The minister also visited the Bodhjung ST Boys' Hostel and the Women's College ST Girls' Hostel in Agartala. He scrutinized living conditions, management, and general infrastructure at each site. Debbarma promised to prioritize repairs and facility improvements. He framed these upgrades as a necessary investment to foster a confident student population.
