Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha ordered every school in the state to start the day with Vande Mataram and the national anthem. The mandate hits government, aided, and private schools. Madrassas must comply too. Daily routines now begin with the full song followed by Jana Gana Mana.

Saha announced the change on Facebook after the state cabinet cleared the plan on June 25. The policy follows federal orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Authorities want proper decorum and respect for national symbols.

Official documents highlight the intent behind the new rule. Saha stated: "In pursuance of the aforementioned national directives and to promote national integration and cultivate unconditional respect towards national symbols among the youth, the Education (School) Department proposes to enforce uniform implementation of these guidelines in all government, government-aided, and privately managed schools, including all government-aided and unaided recognised madrassas operating within the administrative jurisdiction of the state."

Schools must follow the official version of the song. The directive applies immediately across all districts. Officials aim to build patriotism among the youth through this daily ritual.
