Agartala: Dr. Poushali Saha, a dental surgeon from Agartala, received a University Gold Medal at the 28th Annual Convocation of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Karnataka. She earned the top honor for achieving the highest marks in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery during the 2025 MDS examinations.
A native of Banamalipur, Dr. Saha completed her undergraduate studies at Vydehi Dental College before pursuing her postgraduate degree at Oxford Dental College. In addition to the University Gold Medal, she was awarded the Donor Gold Medal for her academic performance.
The ceremony took place at the Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Centre in Bengaluru. Karnataka Governor and university Chancellor Thaawarchand Gehlot presided over the event. Chief guest D. K. Shivakumar delivered the convocation address alongside Medical Education Minister Sharanprakash R. Patil.
Her achievement has garnered significant praise, with those close to the surgeon noting that "her success is being celebrated by family members, teachers, friends, and well-wishers." This recognition serves as a milestone for students from Tripura, demonstrating the potential for excellence in specialized medical fields.
