Agartala: The Tripura government has authorized the acquisition of 2.894 acres of land in the Agartala and Pratapgarh moujas. This project aims to extend and reinforce the right bank of the Howrah River, covering the area from Adarsha Pally to the Pratapgarh RCC Bridge.

An independent multidisciplinary Expert Group reviewed the Social Impact Assessment report under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act of 2013. The panel concluded that the infrastructure expansion is essential for long-term safety. The experts noted that the embankment project would help reduce flood-related disruptions, enhance public safety, and support planned urban development in surrounding areas.

Officials confirmed that residents impacted by the land acquisition process will receive full compensation and rehabilitation benefits mandated by law. Documentation regarding the government decision, the impact assessment, and the evaluation report are currently available for public review at designated government offices.
