Agartala: Tripura Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury met with Assam counterpart Kaushik Rai on July 11. They gathered at the Tripura Secretariat to fix holes in the Public Distribution System. The two states want better food security for their people. They need a system that works.
Chowdhury pushed for more transparency and accountability in how local shops hand out rice and fuel. The ministers compared notes on state departments to see what works and what fails. They talked about using new tech to stop waste and speed up delivery. Better tech means fewer hungry families.
Chowdhury confirmed the state will keep pushing for upgrades to keep the system clean. He said, "The state would continue working towards building a transparent, efficient and people-centric public distribution system to ensure that essential food services reach every eligible beneficiary."
The meeting focused on making the bureaucracy move faster. Both sides plan to copy each other's best ideas to keep shelves stocked. It is about getting the job done for the people who need it most.
