Agartala: Tripura and Assam officials met at the State Secretariat on Saturday to fix broken links in their food distribution networks. Sushanta Chowdhury, Tripura Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, sat down with his Assam counterpart Kaushik Rai to swap strategies on cleaning up the Public Distribution System.
Both states want to make food aid faster and more transparent. They talked about adopting tech-driven reforms to ensure that supplies reach every person who needs them. Chowdhury noted the state keeps pushing for better service quality. He said the government would continue efforts to build a more transparent, efficient and citizen-centric PDS to ensure that essential food supplies reach all eligible beneficiaries.
Rai pushed for deeper teamwork between neighbors. He stated that state cooperation boosts the reach of welfare programs. Both ministers agreed that better governance is the key to uplifting the poorest citizens. They plan to use these inter-state discussions to improve how they handle welfare schemes in the future.
