Agartala: Madhavi Biswas, a 41-year-old video creator from Tripura, traveled to New Delhi on Saturday to participate in the first street protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party. Biswas, known for her candid social media commentary, crowdfunded her trip through online supporters to represent those unable to attend the demonstration at Jantar Mantar.

During the event, Biswas highlighted her concerns regarding the recurring failure of examination systems. Explaining her motivation, she noted that the uncertainty surrounding academic testing affects families across the country. "I came here using donations. Some supporters of mine donated, and since not everyone could come, they sent me," she said.

The protest drew hundreds of participants, many wearing cockroach masks and carrying flowers to demand government accountability for irregularities in major exams like NEET, CBSE, CUET, and SSC. The demonstration featured speeches from activists, including Sonam Wangchuk. Biswas specifically praised Wangchuk for his focus on student futures, which she believes is lacking elsewhere in government.

The Cockroach Janta Party was established on May 16, 2026, by Abhijeet Dipke. The movement originated following remarks by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, who compared unemployed youth to cockroaches during a Supreme Court session. Founder Abhijeet Dipke characterized the Saturday gathering as only the beginning, posting on social media that the protest was "just a trailer" for future actions.
