Agartala: Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma has set a hard line for future political alliances. He demands full implementation of the Tiprasa Accord before discussing any cooperation for the upcoming Village Committee elections. A leadership meeting takes place on August 17 in Agartala. The session begins at 3 pm.
Pradyot announced the gathering on Facebook August 11. He intends to address the party's internal structure and boost transparency. Attendees include all MLAs and MDCs, Youth Tipra Federation leaders, Tipra Indigenous Students Federation members, and senior workers. Pradyot insists that the rights of the Tiprasa community take precedence over individual political gains.
The leadership agrees with this firm stance. Pradyot noted the support of his representatives regarding these priorities. He stated, "I have clearly said that we want something for our people, not for ourselves. If something is given to my people, only then will the talks progress. Otherwise, there will be no progress."
Beyond the accord, the meeting will focus on party discipline and how members interact with the public. Pradyot warned that the group must avoid acting like elites. He emphasized that the survival of the party rests on maintaining high character. The leader expects his team to remain humble, accountable, and grounded in the needs of the people they represent.
