Imphal: Three civilians were killed and at least seven houses burned during an early morning attack in Loibol village, located in Manipur's Kangpokpi district. The victims were identified as Letkhongam Haokip, his wife Tinmary Haokip, and Jangminlal Haokip. The violence, which began around 4:00 AM on Friday, also involved the circulation of a video showing armed individuals during the incident. In the footage, a man speaking a Kuki dialect is heard instructing others to fire weapons, at one point shouting, "Shoot this side, now that side."

The Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM) condemned the attack and accused Kuki militants of initiating the fire. The council expressed concerns regarding armed groups operating near Naga villages and called for the removal of Suspension of Operation camps from the region. The RNCM stated, "Such willful indulgence, without any concern for public safety and provocation of communal tensions, is unequivocally condemned."

Conversely, the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) blamed the National Socialist Council of Nagalim and the Zeliangrong United Front for the assault. In a press statement, the organization labeled the killings a reprehensible act of violence and a violation of human rights. Both groups have called on the Indian government and security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the deaths and the destruction of property in the area.
