Imphal: "First, they poisoned the water. Then, they blocked the pipes. Finally, they opened fire." a local villager told NEWire.in.

As Alledged, The Timeline of Terror: From Poison to Bullets

The plot to target Konsakhul village began in the dark and ended in broad daylight on the Christian Sabbath.

1. The Night Attack: Poisoning the Source

Under the cover of darkness last night, Saturday, May 30, perpetrators breached the water source that supplies Konsakhul village. They allegedly dumped toxins directly into the reservoir.

2. The Morning Discovery

Early this morning, Sunday, May 31, families turned on their taps. They immediately noticed something was wrong. The water had visibly changed color.

"We became highly suspicious when we saw the discolouration," a local villager told NEWire.in. "We immediately ran through the streets, informing everyone in the village not to drink it. If we hadn’t noticed, an entire village could have been poisoned."

3. The Blockade and the Ambush

Hours after the poisoning attempt failed to go unnoticed, the attackers took a more aggressive step. They completely blocked the water pipeline. Anxious to restore their lifeline, a small group of local Naga youths went up to the river near the Konsakhul picnic spot to inspect the blockage. They walked straight into a waiting death trap, as alleged.

Indian Army Medical Team escorting the injured Naga victim, taking detour through unpaved, flooded swampy road from Konsakhul village to reach Hospital earlier today.
