Guwahati: A student at Singimari M.A. Ali Higher Secondary School in the Nagaon district of Assam fell ill on June 8 due to a severe heatwave currently affecting the region. The student became unwell while in class, leading school teachers to intervene immediately.
Staff rushed the student to the Singimari Primary Health Centre for medical treatment and observation. School officials contacted the family, who arrived at the facility shortly after the incident occurred. Local sources reported that the student was "reportedly being affected by the scorching temperatures" during school hours.
Assam has experienced unusually high temperatures recently, leading authorities to release safety advisories. Officials have urged the public to take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related health issues during this period of intense weather.
