Silchar Flyover Project Advances With Initial Soil Testing

Guwahati: Crews are prepping the Capital Point and Rangirkhari corridor for a new flyover in Silchar. Soil-testing equipment reached the Rangirkhari area to start the technical assessment. The project targets the city's worst traffic bottlenecks. Heavy congestion plagues these commercial and residential routes daily.

Technical teams are conducting pile testing and soil examinations to pave the way for construction. Locals hope this work brings relief to commuters who fight traffic on the corridor every day. The flyover aims to streamline movement through the city's core.

Cachar district BJP president Rupam Saha praised the progress. He credited Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for pushing the plan forward. "The beginning of technical preparations reflected progress towards fulfilling a long-standing demand of the people of Silchar," Saha said. He expects full-scale construction to start once the technical assessments wrap up.
