Gangtok: The Jan Bhagidari Week, titled Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle, concluded on May 25 after a nationwide effort to improve the delivery of government welfare programs. The initiative focused on reaching tribal and remote populations to ensure they receive the benefits and services intended for them.

In the Mangan district, the Social Welfare Department led the campaign across 30 tribal villages. Through local Adi Seva Kendras, officials provided direct assistance with Aadhaar updates, Scheduled Tribe certificate applications, and general welfare enrollments. These efforts aim to remove barriers for residents living in isolated areas who often struggle to access administrative offices.

The week also prioritized community health. Officials organized various check-ups, including general physical examinations and oral health screenings, to encourage preventive care and identify health issues early. Beyond administrative and medical services, the campaign fostered community engagement through local plantation drives, cleanliness projects, and public grievance sessions held at schools and development offices. These activities encouraged residents to take an active role in the development and maintenance of their local villages.
