Gangtok: Sikkim Police cleared the air on Monday. There is no organised terror cell or extremist network operating inside the state. Officials issued this statement to stop rumors following an investigation into a single case of online self-radicalisation.

Sadar Police Station registered the case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, and the IT Act. This followed a tip-off from central intelligence agencies. Deputy Superintendent Mingyur Tempo Nadik now leads the probe into how one person got hooked on extremist propaganda.

Digital evidence shows the accused consumed radical material for a long time. Investigators believe this person acted alone without any physical contact with groups. Police said, "The case presently concerns the alleged activities of an individual and that there is no evidence of any organised extremist network operating within Sikkim."

Some leads point toward other states or foreign connections. Sikkim Police are working with federal authorities to trace these digital footprints. They have also passed a report to the National Investigation Agency as the law requires. For now, public safety remains intact. There is no threat to law and order or communal harmony. Police are asking parents and teachers to watch for suspicious online activity and keep their eyes open.
