Gangtok: Sikkim district officials ordered residents in the Rimbi-Singlitam area to clear out immediately. A landslide tore through the site, forcing the move. The affected families live under the 11-Rimbi Timbrong Gram Panchayat Unit within the Yuksam Sub-Division of Gyalshing district.

Government teams inspected the wreckage to gauge the damage and tally the risks to nearby homes. They labeled the area landslide-prone. The ground remains unstable. Authorities directed these families to move to safer ground as a basic safety precaution.

Officials now monitor the site around the clock. They are hunting for relief funds and long-term housing solutions for those displaced by the slide. "The administration has urged residents in vulnerable areas to follow official advisories and cooperate with the relocation measures to ensure their safety." Teams will keep evaluating ground conditions to decide if more people need to leave their homes soon.
