Gangtok: A BJP Sikkim delegation trekked to the landslide-ravaged Rimbi-Timrong area in Geyzing district this Saturday. State President DR Thapa led the group into the Yuksom-Tashiding Constituency to scout damage and drop off supplies. Relief is flowing. Party members NK Subba, Dinesh Chandra Nepal, and Digam Limboo joined district executives and local leaders to manage the mission.
The team met with Panchayat President Mangal Rai and relief center boss Tara Gurung to hand over essential goods. They surveyed the wreckage. Roughly 30 families fled the disaster zone and now huddle in a local relief camp. The delegation walked through the site to grill local representatives about the scope of the destruction and the immediate needs of those who lost their homes.
Displaced residents spoke directly with the politicians about their missing supplies and lack of shelter. Thapa pledged that his team would keep pushing for resources during this crisis. The party plans to file a formal report with the central government to demand further aid. "The BJP Sikkim team would continue to extend all possible assistance," Thapa stated during the visit. The party promises to stick with these families through the long recovery process.
