Gangtok: A mudslide struck near Sirik in Bojoghari, dumping heaps of mud and debris across the roadside. Several vehicles took damage in the slide. Persistent rain continues to soak the slopes, keeping the area at high risk for more collapses. Authorities warn the ground remains unstable as rainfall shows no signs of letting up.

Meanwhile, the Bardang stretch of National Highway 10 has shut down again. A landslide blocked the path, halting all traffic flow on this vital route. Bardang remains a notorious hotspot for slide activity. "The highway frequently getting blocked during periods of heavy or prolonged rainfall," locals noted, highlighting the constant threat to connectivity.

This latest closure fits a pattern of recurring failures along the highway. Each spell of rain brings fresh debris and travel headaches. Restoration teams face a tough road ahead. Permanent fixes are needed to stabilize the hillside and keep the highway open for business.
