Imphal: Joint security teams dismantled a militant stronghold and seized a massive haul of weaponry during two coordinated raids in Manipur. The operations targeted hidden caches in the Bishnupur and Jiribam districts, dealing a harsh blow to insurgent supply lines.

The first strike hit on Monday near the fringes of Loktak Lake. Indian Army soldiers, Assam Rifles, and state police scoured the Phubala Patton area for three hours. They found a temporary camp buried in floating vegetation. The haul included an RPG launcher, grenades, Lathode bombs, pistols, and radio gear.

Teams also swept a forest zone in Champanagar later that day. They unearthed six Self-Loading Rifles, an AK rifle, and over 600 rounds of live ammunition. Police noted that these seizures disrupt long-standing logistics chains. Officials confirmed that "security forces have intensified area domination and sanitisation operations across vulnerable locations to trace additional illegal arms caches, dismantle militant infrastructure and strengthen law and order in the state."

Pressure remains high. Troops are combing through fringe areas to root out remaining weapon dumps. No arrests were reported as the cleanup continues.
