Kohima: The Satakha Town Youth Organisation (STYO) officially unveiled the I Love Satakha landmark along National Highway 702A on May 19. This installation represents a key component of the organization's ongoing town beautification initiative and stands on land generously donated by the family and children of the late Hoshivi Tuccu Yepthomi from Satakha Village.
Aronto Y. Jimo, personal secretary to the Minister for Roads and Bridges, Nagaland, inaugurated the site as the chief guest. Representing Minister G. Kaito Aye, Jimo praised the STYO for achieving a historic milestone and commended the group for turning community pride into tangible action. He encouraged residents to serve as ambassadors for peace and unity while emphasizing the necessity of protecting public assets and government-funded infrastructure.
During the dedication ceremony, Pastor Vitoka Zhimo of Satakha Town Baptist Church led a special prayer for the site. Local officials, including councillors from the Satakha Town Council, Gaon Buras, and community members, attended the event to show their support.
STYO President Ikupu Tuccu noted that the organization, formed in 2017, remains dedicated to local development and encouraged residents to take collective responsibility for their town's future rather than relying exclusively on government aid. Adding to the call for progress, Additional Deputy Commissioner Chumlamo Humtsoe praised the organization for its ability to mobilize voluntary funding and urged the community to strive toward becoming a plastic-free zone.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by STYO General Secretary Mutavi V. Zhimomi, while the program proceedings were led by compères Wilka Zhimo and Onitoli Swu. Benediction was offered by Hetoka APY of UBC Satakha.
