Rio Invites All Nagas to Join NPF Ahead of Manipur Elections

Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister and Naga People’s Front president Dr. Neiphiu Rio opened his party doors to all. He wants unity. Rio made a direct pitch to Nagas living in Manipur before the upcoming state elections. The call came during a ceremony in Kohima marking the Rising People’s Party merger with the NPF.

"The NPF belongs to you too. This is your platform. Come forward. Participate. Strengthen the movement for Naga unity and oneness."

Rio emphasized that the NPF is not just a Nagaland party. It holds seats in Manipur and seeks to grow across all Naga-inhabited regions. He noted that man-made borders cannot kill Naga identity. If physical integration proves impossible now, he urged the people to focus on emotional integration instead.

The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s opposition-less government. He said leaders are setting aside differences to solve the long-standing Naga political issue. This goal remains the top priority for both the NPF and the ruling People’s Democratic Alliance. He plans to work with the BJP to bring faster development while protecting local traditions.

Faith stays at the center of the movement. Rio promised to protect the state’s Christian heritage while ensuring the party remains a regional force with a national outlook. He wants to build better roads, hospitals, and schools. He also aims to pull in more investment for local entrepreneurs.
