Guwahati: Locals in Guwahati seized two suspected Bangladeshi nationals at Bobby Lodge in the Paltan Bazar area. Residents grew suspicious of the pair and held them until police arrived. The men lacked valid travel documents to be in India.

Police took the duo into custody for questioning. During initial statements, the detainees claimed they crossed the border with help from a man named Hridoy Deka. Officers are now checking the validity of that claim.

Investigators are digging into Deka's role. They want to know if he runs a larger human smuggling network. "Police have taken both persons into custody and launched a detailed investigation into the matter." Authorities remain on the scene to confirm how the suspects bypassed border security.
