Railway Police Detain 11 Suspected Illegal Migrants in Guwahati

Guwahati: Railway Protection Force officers hauled 11 men off a train at Guwahati Railway Station this week. The group of suspected Bangladeshi nationals intended to travel to Chennai before agents stopped them. They sit in custody now.

Initial reports suggest the men snuck across the border at Tura, Meghalaya. Investigators think a middleman from Bangladesh helped them cross. Officials are working to uncover the full scope of this operation. They want to know how deep this network goes.

The RPF has launched a probe to verify identities and map out their travel route. Questioning is currently underway to identify any accomplices. One official noted that "legal procedures are being followed" as investigators pour over seized documents. They are hunting for the agents who moved them across the line.
