Pungro Students Lead Village Cleanup Effort

Kohima: The Pungro Village Students' Union teamed up with Government Middle School to scrub Pungro Village clean on August 22. They targeted the local ground, the Village Gate, school premises, circular roads, and Khel access points. Volunteers spent the day hauling away plastic bags, discarded bottles, and loose wrappers. The work aims to push students toward better environmental stewardship.

PVSU officials and school staff managed the operation. They cleared massive amounts of waste from the town center and surrounding areas. Head Teacher Kinan earned specific praise from the student leaders for his help. The union thanked him for his, "exemplary spirit of volunteerism towards community welfare."

Trash is a problem. The group now demands the public stop tossing plastics on the ground. Everyone must dispose of materials properly to keep the village safe and sustainable. The union wants citizens to stop littering for good.
