Guwahati: Authorities in Assam conducted a major anti-narcotics operation in the Kamrup district, resulting in the seizure of over 41 kilograms of suspected ganja. The raid took place at a residence in Batakuchi village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Boko Police Station.

Police acted on specific intelligence to carry out the search, where they recovered six plastic bags filled with the contraband. The total weight of the haul reached 41.605 kilograms. Officers processed the evidence according to standard legal protocols in the presence of independent witnesses.

The operation was led by Jankishore Gogoi, the co-district superintendent of police for Boko-Chaygaon, alongside ASI Atul Deka and SI Bijoy Nath. Following the discovery, police arrested 69-year-old Bhumidhar Rabha, a local resident of Batakuchi.

Rabha is currently held at the Boko Police Station. Investigators are continuing their work to uncover potential connections to broader illegal narcotics networks.
