Guwahati: Mayong Police intercepted 32 cattle in a major bust at Hasenabori. The officers seized a four-wheeler packed with the animals. They acted on intelligence regarding illegal cattle smuggling operations. The mission took place under the command of Mayong Police Station officer Mun Prakash Tiwari.

The suspects saw the police coming. They ditched the truck and bolted into the shadows. Two men remain at large. Police now have the vehicle and the animals in custody. They are tracking the smugglers down.

Authorities are digging into the illicit network to find who is behind the operation. "Further investigation into the suspected cattle-smuggling network is underway," the department noted in a statement. Police are working to identify the pair who fled the scene.
