Police Seize 270 kg of Cannabis in Assam Smuggling Bust

Guwahati: Police busted a drug smuggling ring in Gossaigaon, Assam, seizing 270 kg of cannabis. Officers intercepted a truck at Srirampur and discovered the haul stashed inside a hidden compartment.

The illicit cargo arrived in 51 separate packets. Authorities took three men into custody: Dharmendra Singh Yadav, Manager Singh Yadav, and Anandram Yadav. They hauled the suspects to the station for questioning.

Police have launched a formal investigation into the operation. Officers are working to track the source of the drugs and find where the load was headed. "Police have launched an investigation to determine the source and intended destination of the cannabis and to identify any other individuals who may be connected to the alleged trafficking network." They are now hunting for remaining members of the network.
