Police Investigate Mob Attack on Couple at Assam Roadside Stall

Guwahati: A couple operating a roadside food stall along National Highway 15 in Assam faced a violent mob attack on Monday. The incident occurred at Kona Nadi within the Bogeenadi Police Station area, where a group of individuals ransacked the business and assaulted both the husband and his wife.

Following the attack, the woman filed a formal complaint at the Chawuldhowa Police Outpost. She reported that the assailants physically harmed the couple and alleged that she was stripped by members of the mob during the struggle.

The victim specifically identified Harakanta Chayengiyah, Tulsi Payeng, Paplu Payeng, Tutu Kaman, and Zerifa Kaman as the individuals responsible for the violence. Local police have launched an investigation into the allegations to determine the circumstances of the event. Officials have stated that "further details are awaited" as the probe continues.
