Kohima: Minister for Higher Education and Tourism Temjen Imna Along officially inaugurated the new Science and Arts blocks at Pfutsero Government College on June 4. The event, held in the presence of MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero, marks a significant infrastructure boost for the institution. The Science Block was completed in two years under the 2024-25 State Plan, while the Arts Block was constructed through the 2013-14 State Plan.

During the ceremony, Temjen Imna Along praised the timely delivery of the Science facility. He highlighted the government's dedication to improving regional education, stating, "The Department of Higher Education’s commitment to strengthening human resources in the state" remains a top priority. Dr. Neisatuo Mero also addressed the attendees, encouraging the college faculty to act as positive role models for their students.

Technical reports from the NPWD Housing department indicate the Science Block cost Rs 470 lakh and includes seven classrooms alongside three laboratories for Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. The Rs 440 lakh Arts Block features ten classrooms and dedicated faculty offices. Following the unveiling of the commemorative plaque by Dr. Wetsou Medo, Rev. Despite these upgrades, College Principal Dr. Anungla Pongener identified lingering institutional needs. She emphasized a requirement for better laboratory equipment, furniture, upgraded road access, student hostels, and more reliable internet connectivity to support staff and pupils.
