Oil India Limited Driver Faces Fraud and Abandonment Allegations in Morigaon

Guwahati: An employee of Oil India Limited (OIL) is facing serious allegations in the Morigaon district after his wife, Pompi Bhuyan, formally accused him of fraud and family abandonment. The accused, identified as Jitumoni Bhuyan, is reported to work as a driver for the organization. According to the complaint submitted to the Morigaon Superintendent of Police, the couple, who married 15 years ago and share two sons, initially maintained a stable household during the husband's tenure at the Noonmati OIL facility.

The situation reportedly deteriorated after Jitumoni Bhuyan was transferred to Golaghat. His wife alleges that he began distancing himself from his family and eventually initiated a relationship with another woman. Beyond the personal allegations, Pompi Bhuyan claims her husband has defaulted on a significant bank loan. She reports that the State Bank of India's Noonmati branch has repeatedly sent notices to their home regarding an unpaid balance of approximately Rs 7 lakh.

Perhaps the most severe accusation involves the alleged use of a forged Assam government fireman identity card. Following these developments, Pompi Bhuyan has requested that local authorities conduct a thorough investigation into her husband's activities. Morigaon Police have confirmed that an inquiry is underway to verify the claims. While the community awaits the outcome of the investigation, officials noted that any potential legal action or detention of the accused will depend entirely on the findings of the case.
