Kohima: The NSCN (IM) fired back at the Union Home Ministry on Wednesday. They flatly rejected a government order linking the group to destroyed poppy fields and deadly shootouts. The group dismissed the official findings as nothing more than an accusation wrapped in the language of authority.
Leadership in Dimapur claims the ministry lacks proof. They say the report prioritizes narrative over actual evidence. "That is not investigation; it is insinuation," the group stated. The organization insists they are not a banned entity under Indian law and warned the government against poisoning public opinion before a fair inquiry takes place.
Tensions remain high. The group demands the government respect the November 2002 Milan MoU. They view this agreement as a necessary tool to maintain peace and dignity for communities battered by long-term conflict. NSCN (IM) officials urged the government to act transparently and stop trying to manufacture guilt without evidence.
