Kohima: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has issued a formal rebuttal to allegations raised by the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Delhi & NCR in a press statement released on May 16, 2026. The NSCN-IM characterized the accusations as reckless, unverified, and politically driven narratives designed to heighten communal tensions in Manipur.

In its response, the NSCN-IM firmly denied any involvement in terrorism, unlawful activities, or organized crime. The group criticized the KSO for attempting to label organizations and individuals without credible judicial findings or supporting evidence. According to the NSCN-IM, such rhetoric is intended to manipulate public opinion and demonize specific communities rather than address the root causes of the ongoing unrest.

Emphasizing the importance of due process, the NSCN-IM stated that no organization has the authority to declare guilt outside of legal channels. They warned that spreading unsubstantiated claims and using provocative language undermines democratic harmony and risks inciting social unrest. The organization called upon student bodies, civil society, and the media to move away from one-sided narratives and instead prioritize peace and factual integrity.

Addressing the broader situation, the NSCN-IM issued a stern warning that the circulation of defamatory and inflammatory content must cease. They noted that they are prepared to pursue appropriate legal and administrative actions to address these provocations. The group concluded by urging all stakeholders to work collectively toward stability and justice for the region.
