Peren District Orders Mandatory Cleanup Day

Kohima: Peren district officials will hold a mandatory mass social work event on August 28. Operations start at 8:30 a.m. sharp across all district headquarters and sub divisions. Every department officer and staff member must report to their assigned offices and quarters to scrub the facilities.

Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru praised the staff for their work culture and commitment to sanitation. He told the team that "keeping the district clean must remain a top priority." District Planning Officer Danyi Domeh confirmed that the DC office will track attendance closely. No one gets a pass.

This cleanup aligns with the Green Peren initiative. The program aims to boost local farm production while protecting native plants and animals. Officials expect town councils, NGOs, CSOs, youth groups, and student unions to clean their own neighborhoods. These groups must also protect ornamental and roadside trees planted during the project.
