NSCN (IM) Demands Action Against Kuki Groups Over Reported Killings

Kohima: The NSCN (IM) has issued a formal condemnation following the reported killing and mutilation of individuals by Kuki militant groups and Kuki Village Volunteers. In a statement released on June 10, the organization described the violence as a severe violation of human dignity and a crime against humanity, claiming these acts were designed to instill fear and psychological trauma within targeted communities.

Urging the Government of India to intervene immediately, the NSCN (IM) called for the groups involved to be banned as terrorist organizations. The group argued that the deliberate targeting of civilians and the nature of the violence reflect the hallmarks of terrorism. Beyond these allegations, the organization criticized security forces for what it characterized as excessive actions against women protesters, student activists, and village guards during the unrest.

The organization offered condolences to the victims' families while pledging to continue its pursuit of accountability. The press release noted, "The NSCN (IM) will leave no stone unturned until those responsible for this savage act are brought to justice." The group emphasized its solidarity with the affected communities as it continues to demand a swift response from authorities.
