Imphal: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) is pushing back against recent criticism from the Working Committee of NNPGs. They argue the Indo-Naga political issue belongs to all Nagas, not any single group or party. Disputes now only breed division.

"It is a historic issue built on the sacrifices and hopes of generations of Nagas," the NPF stated. They urged stakeholders to act with maturity to reach an inclusive solution. Internal blame games serve no purpose. The party needs to focus on larger regional challenges instead.

The NPF rejected claims that it hindered the Nagaland Gaon Bura Federation from meeting the Prime Minister. They maintain that Gaon Buras should focus on village administration rather than external politics. The party also denied responsibility for the departure of former interlocutor R.N. Ravi. They reminded critics that only the Government of India holds the power to appoint or transfer its representatives.

Regarding the recent oil exploration memorandum, the NPF insisted the issue of resource management must be handled with historical context. They noted that territorial disputes between Assam and Nagaland have existed for decades. Exploiting these complex topics for political gain ignores the ongoing efforts to reach a peaceful boundary resolution.

The party also expressed deep concern over attacks on Naga villages in Manipur. Recent killings have devastated local communities. The NPF argued that political dialogue must include real security on the ground. "Our people expect Naga freedom fighters to give priority to protecting Naga villages and lives," they added. Protecting the people must happen alongside the search for a lasting political settlement.
