Kohima: The Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) has formally issued a statement addressing and refuting inaccurate reports circulating on social media regarding a recent meeting between Kuki and Naga representatives. The organization expressed deep concern over claims suggesting that attendee Sword Vashum walked out of the discussions held in Kohima earlier this week.

According to the official statement released on Friday, the meeting, which took place on May 4, 2026, was organized by the NJCF to foster dialogue and reconciliation. The forum clarified that the event saw robust participation from church and civil society leaders from both communities, and they firmly asserted that at no point did Mr. Vashum depart from the proceedings prematurely. The NJCF highlighted that all attendees stand as witnesses to the fact that the allegations are entirely false.

The organization further cautioned that the spread of such misinformation serves to undermine ongoing peace-building efforts and mutual understanding between the Naga and Kuki communities. Emphasizing that peaceful engagement is the only viable path for the region, the NJCF issued a strong appeal for all parties to refrain from violent confrontation.

Guided by Christian principles of unity, the forum reiterated its dedication to mediating constructive discourse. The NJCF remains steadfast in its mission to promote harmony and continues to call for a collaborative effort to ensure regional stability.
