Nine Bangladeshi Nationals Stranded at Assam Border After BSF Pushback

Guwahati: Border Security Force personnel pushed nine Bangladeshi nationals back across the India-Bangladesh border on Sunday morning in Assam's South Salmara-Mankachar district. The group, which includes women and children, was moved through two specific border points in Mankachar. Six individuals were sent through the Jhalarchar crossing, while the remaining three were pushed through the Shahapara point.

Following the operation, officials from the Border Security Force and Border Guard Bangladesh held a flag meeting to address the situation. Despite these discussions, Bangladeshi authorities have not accepted the group back into their territory. The individuals currently remain stranded in the No Man's Land area between the two countries.

Security forces from both nations have intensified patrols along the border to maintain order. Both sides are maintaining heightened vigilance as officials continue to coordinate. According to reports, "all nine individuals continue to remain stranded at 'No Man's Land' area along the India-Bangladesh border."
