Guwahati: The North Eastern Tea Association is backing new research into executive stress. Dr. Pransu Raj Kaushik earned his PhD from Dibrugarh University for a study comparing mental health management between tea garden executives and staff at Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited. It marks the first time NETA member firms have participated in such a doctoral project.

Tea garden executives handle massive operational and administrative workloads. Despite this, their mental health rarely gets academic attention. The study, guided by Prof. Pratim Barua, aims to fix that. NETA stated that the research "reflects the growing collaboration between the tea industry and academia" through their existing partnership.

The findings offer a blueprint for better human resource policies. Industry leaders hope these insights boost productivity and keep the sector sustainable. By pushing for evidence-based changes, the association wants to prioritize the well-being of the people running these plantations.
