Agartala: Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath officially launched a new Kisan Helpline Centre at the State Horticulture Research Centre in Nagichhara, Agartala. The facility serves as a dedicated hub to provide farmers with expert agricultural guidance and a streamlined system for resolving grievances.
This initiative builds upon the foundation of the original Kisan Call Centre, which began as a Central Government project in 2004. Upgraded and renamed in 2026, the programme now integrates advisory services with a formal complaint resolution process. The Agartala location supports agricultural workers across Tripura, Mizoram, and Meghalaya, operating daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Farmers can connect with experts by calling the toll-free number 1800-180-1551. The Minister noted, "The technology-driven Kisan Helpline Centre in Agartala will serve as an effective bridge between farmers, agricultural experts, and the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare."
The centre manages complaints through a structured escalation process. Supervisors first review each case before forwarding complex issues to the relevant Section Officer or Grievance Officer. Once a resolution is reached, the system tracks the outcome and verifies satisfaction with the farmer to ensure final closure. The facility uses advanced analytics to log call duration, status, and timestamps, ensuring all interactions are documented for service quality improvements.
