NEDFi and Society of Aborigines Host Business Meet in Zunheboto

Kohima: The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi) Kohima branch and the Society of Aborigines held the Business Meet 2026 at the NPF Conference Hall in Zunheboto on June 12. The event aimed to provide local entrepreneurs and startups with the resources, guidance, and financial information needed to build sustainable businesses.

Kikheto Muru, President of the Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries, noted that the region faces economic shifts. He said, "Local market has witnessed a decline in recent years, particularly among resellers, due to changing market trends and consumer preferences." Muru encouraged youth to explore innovative sectors and organic enterprises rather than repeating saturated business models. He also stressed the importance of community cooperation for economic growth.

NEDFi Branch Manager K. Jianthailung highlighted the necessity of providing support systems for new business owners. He explained that "Access to financial support and guidance can help aspiring business owners transform their ideas into sustainable enterprises and build successful careers in the business sector." During the session, Jianthailung and Executive Officer Vikethozo Kulnu detailed various financial schemes, loan processes, and GST 2.0 initiatives available to local establishments.

The event also featured a message from Akumlong Amer, EAC Headquarters, who urged residents to leverage available support for self-employment. The day concluded with an interactive session where participants engaged directly with NEDFi officials to clarify questions regarding financing and business development.
