Kohima: The Common Service Centre (CSC) Village Level Entrepreneur Cooperative Society for Dimapur, Niuland, and Chümoukedima is calling out scammers. Certain individuals are intimidating students and schools by claiming they hold exclusive rights to process National Scholarship Portal (NSP) applications. These bad actors threaten that applications will be rejected unless routed through them.
Reports indicate these fraudsters are name-dropping the District Education Office (DEO) and the District Nodal Office to force compliance. The Society checked with the DEO to verify these claims. The District Education Office dismissed the allegations regarding mandatory submission through specific individuals as "false and misleading."
The NSP is an open government platform. Students can use any legitimate service provider or authorized CSC to submit their paperwork. The District Nodal Office only performs verification tasks. They do not appoint private agents to handle or collect applications.
Parents must handle their own income certificates. Do not use fake documents, as this triggers rejection and potential legal trouble. The Society warned its own members as well. Any entrepreneur caught lying about government authorization or bullying students will face consequences. The application process must remain transparent and fair for every family in the region.
