Kohima: The Directorate of Higher Education and the Directorate of Technical Education in Nagaland signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to boost skill-based and vocational learning. This collaboration seeks to improve career prospects for students by sharing resources, infrastructure, and technical expertise across state institutions.
Under the new partnership, technical experts will help integrate industry-relevant courses into the higher education curriculum. These programs will feature training in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and convergence technologies. Lessons will be delivered through polytechnic schools and designated training centers using both virtual and in-person formats.
The initiative aims to create a more capable workforce by aligning academic paths with modern industry demands. Officials stated that this cooperation is essential for student success, noting that "Higher Education and Technical Education are paving the way for a more skilled, empowered and future ready generation of learners in Nagaland." By combining departmental resources, the government hopes to foster innovation and provide students with the practical skills required for the evolving job market.
