Imphal: A six-member peace delegation from Nagaland arrived in Ukhrul on May 30 to express solidarity with local communities facing security threats. The group, which included representatives from the Naga Mothers Association and the Global Naga Forum, met with Tangkhul leaders at Magen Hills to discuss pressing issues affecting the Naga people.

The visit focused on supporting residents of Choro, Namlee, and Wanglee. These villages recently suffered arson attacks, with homes destroyed by suspected cadres of the Kuki National Army-Burma operating across the international border. The delegation provided relief materials to those displaced by the violence.

During their discussions, attendees identified internal division as a primary obstacle for the region alongside external border aggression. The delegation urged Naga leaders to pursue collective leadership and set aside differences to navigate the current national crisis. A statement from the Global Naga Forum emphasized that the relief mission demonstrated the strength of the Naga diaspora and the commitment of supporters across Nagaland.

The team concluded that long-term recovery for the affected border villages depends on both humanitarian aid and a renewed commitment to cohesion. They encouraged a unified approach to ensure mutual support and stability across all Naga communities.
