Kohima: Nagaland officials honored 56 students on Thursday at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima. These indigenous Scheduled Tribe pupils earned top marks in the 2026 HSLC Examination. Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, advisor for School Education, handed out the certificates.
Hard work pays off. The cohort included 43 girls and 13 boys, a split Yhome highlighted during his speech. He urged the group to aim high and use their skills to help the state. Education is a legacy.
The Chief Minister’s Meritorious Students Fellowship provides more than just a certificate. NBSE chairperson Rangumbuing Nsarangbe noted the program offers financial aid for five years. Students must keep their grades at 80 percent or higher to keep the cash flowing. Parents and families played a big part in these results.
Two students shared their gratitude for the support. Benchumo Tungoe and Imnayangla spoke on behalf of the group to thank the board. The event ended with a vote of thanks from L. Jamithung Lotha, the State Mission Director for Samagra Shiksha.
